Alisha Solo Acoustic
Raised in small town Gympie by her Asian mother and Canadian mentor, to a soundtrack of John Denver, ZZ Top and all things ‘90’s’, and later living in a house of travelling music students while being educated at Southern Cross University in Lismore had planted what seemed like a virus for the need to see other lands and experience other cultures. After losing her mother to Pancreatic Cancer and the release of her debut pop EP in 2013, Alisha set off on a 3.5-year journey of self, social and musical discovery through Europe and England, anchoring for the most part in the cultural scenes of Bristol and Ibiza, and gathering parts of her soul from the coldest landscapes of Iceland and the aromatic, wholesome streets of Morocco. 2018 has seen a maturation of a new wave of material collected over the 3.5-year period. With a new profound affection for jazz fusion, the rhythms encountered in late night street ciphers and drum jams and the vivid beauty of diverse landscapes imprinted on the back of her eyelids, Alisha shares a personal story of an adventure that belongs to everyone
